Ready for Montana

In preparation for my upcoming trip to Montana, I decided to don the western wear given to me by my friends Brian and Becca. I even humored Dad by allowing him to get a picture of one of my ever more frequent (and quite adorable) smiles.

C-norme

What a difference a month makes! As many of you are already aware, we here at Connor's Corner are putting on something of a retrospective in honor of my first month of making this world a substantially better place. And what a month it has been. My recent visit to the doctor finds me solidly in the 89th percentile for height, but, despite my best efforts, only 77th for weight. Tipping the scales at a manly 11 lbs, 1oz (a week ago, it's at least double that by now), people tend to look at mom and dad strangely when they tell them I am only 6 weeks old. Then again, they always seem to look at my dad strangely, so maybe it's not me.*

Again, playing the "Before they were stars" game, me at one week:

And me at five weeks making the same outfit look like its designer intended. Good work Momma!!!

*Editor's note: It's him.

Misty Water Colored Bouncy Seat Memories

To celebrate my first month-iversary, I was going back through some old pictures and holding back the years. Its nice to know that I was just as cute back in June as I am now that it is nearly August.

For comparison, I have included the below picture of me last week. Yes, my parent's are still to lazy to dress me and no, that is not a different head rest. To put the rumors to rest once and for all, I have had no cosmetic enhancement of my cheeks and this photo has not been retouched in any way. I am naturally this cute.

Wrap it up!

For those of you that have not spent much time with me, you should know that I like to be snuggled. All the time. I do not enjoy modes of transportation that do not involve physical labor for my parents (such as cars and strollers). So, mom and dad usually transport me around in a plethora of ingenious contraptions, including but not limited to, the moby wrap, a fleece sling, and an ergo baby carrier. I have chosen this blog post to celebrate the moby wrap, as well as the awesome golf hat given to me by my parents' friends Hiranda, Paul, and Ella.

A little more cheesecake

A little something for the grandparents out there as an apology for the long delay in posting. Desktop wall paper update begins... NOW.

Helping Hands

Sorry for the delay, faithful readers, I know that trying your patience is not wise, and please trust that I do not do so lightly. My transcription service tells me that his other job (coincidentally, as a glorified transcription service) is even more demanding than I am, but you good folks certainly know that is not the case.

I had the tremendous pleasure of meeting my Grandpa Jack and Grandma Michele, along with my delightful Aunt Maggie over the weekend, and, let me tell you, I was in heaven (and my well rested parents were too)! We had so many adventures -- going out for Indian food, going to the Whole Foods, watching lots of White Sox baseball, sleeping on Grandpa Jack -- it was fabulous! We also had a wonderful time (until the car ride home, when I became concerned my parents might not be aware I was in the back seat and made sure to remind them for half an hour while we were stuck in heavy traffic on the Kennedy) heading out to the north suburbs to help G.G. Nancy celebrate her eighty fifth birthday (and looking forward to many more). We got to meet Great Aunt Ann and Great Uncle Mike, Cousin David, and way too many Harts to name them all here (don't worry, gentle readers, we will have a subsequent post commemorating that occasion)(at some point).

Can't wait to see Grandpa Jack, Grandma Michele, Grandma Josie, Jake, Maggie, Pam, Charmel, Shawn, Ryan and way too many Lindseys in just a couple of days back in God's country!!!

Playing hard to get with Grandpa Jack.

Rewarding all that patience with Jack and Grandma Michele.
Aunt Maggie. Just the freakin bomb. Rumor has it she considering spending some time with me and the old folks in Chicago, and let me just say, I strongly support this idea.

Return of Bath Time!

As many of my faithful readers will recall, I am not the biggest fan of the bath. I find it generally harshes my mellow, and makes stylin the 'hawk way more difficult. Dad, in one of many, many well guided but ultimately fruitless gestures, has taken to coming into the tub with me. It generally puts off the caterwauling for at least 30 to 45 seconds. Needless to say, it gets a little intense sometimes, but at least i don't always smell like sour milk.

Let's Get Physical!

Its awesome spending more than two hours a day awake. Why didn't someone tell me about this before? I have all kinds of time on my hands now! One of my favorite passtimes is beating the heck out of my brightly colored animal friends hanging from my activity mat. The animals certainly seem friendly enough, but when they dangle so temptingly, who could blame me? I love to look around and explore all by myself, at least for about 20 minutes at a time. I would not want the old folks thinking I did not need them anymore (even if that is totally the truth). Now if you will excuse me I need to yell till someone changes my diaper.

Glamour Shots

Flashback! Mom and dad had a professional take some pictures of me while I was still in the hospital, just a few days after I was born. In honor of the one-month anniversary of my birth (aka, the day the world got a heck of a lot more awesome) I thought I would share a couple with you. So, yes, I have always been this cute.

Liebschutz-a-paloza!

I am rather disappointed in my parents, as I have no appropriate pictures of Grandpa Jack, Grandma Michele or Aunt Maggie to post in anticipation of their imminent arrival in Chi City! Hooray! Christenings for all!

Safe travels in anticipation of many snuggles!

Return of the Night Stalker!

That darn paparazzo has done it again! I realize my adorableness has made me a national celebrity, but can't I have just a few moments to nap on my dad in peace!?!?

Still Rockin the Hawk!!!

Just in case anyone was wondering, no, I have not let my parents cut my hair, and yes, it remains this awesome. It gets way better when my parents pluck up the courage to actually bathe me, but as I have not warmed much to the experience, even with dad hoppin in with me, I only get the full Billy Ray on about once a week.

Night Stalker!

Be on the look-out faithful readers! There is paparazzo on the loose! I was enjoying some early morning bed snuggle time with my momma, as I am wont to do, and also passed the heck out, as I usually am during such times, when some creep sneaked into the bedroom and snapped a picture of us! Mom claimed to have seen a man who looked almost exactly like me but about four feet taller (and with less (and less awesome) hair), but she was unable to rouse herself enough to complain. Please dear readers, if you see this sneaky shutterbug, DO NOT confront him but alert your local authorities.

Green (Poopin) Machine!

As some of you may know (and as some of you may have realized from the junk in my trunk in all these pictures on the blog), mom and dad have been diapering me in cloth, both pre-folds and fancy, hi-tech pocket diapers. They are doing, needless to say, a LOT of laundry, but overall not yet having to run to the store to buy diapers has been pretty rewarding. Anyway, they asked that I run through the basics here in case any of you want to jump off the landfiller train and follow the bum genius (one of our favorite brands).
These are our pre-folds along with a "snapi", the magic Scandinavian invention which means mom and dad are not constantly sticking me with pins. Which we all appreciate. Given my rate of growth, these aren't going to last long, but they will soon be excellent burp cloths and rags. Let us know if you need any.My beloved changing pad, complete with a night's supply of pocket diapers. Since they absorb a lot better they are a much better option for nights when I will be sleeping for "up to" three hours at a time. They are certainly pricier, but a lot easier to use and oh-so stylish!

So much more than just a bidet! This is the neat little hose which attaches to the loo for cleaning my diapes of "solids" prior to washing. Also, don't know if I mentioned you can use it as a bidet.

Diaper genie it ain't. Old school diaper pail with sealing lid provides odor protection while waiting for morning processing.

Perhaps the most important piece of diapering equipment, our front loaders. Every morning these babies refresh my supply of bum covers. And for that I will be forever grateful.

Real Men Wear Cornflower Yellow

As I am sure all of my faithful readers know, I am a big time supporter of the Chicago White Sox, especially my favorite player (and newly appointed All-Star) Paulie Konerko. You will notice how attractive I look in the onesie mommy bought me even before I was born. It takes a real fan to wear it with bright yellow diapers. We here at Connor's Corner think it is no coincidence that the Sox have been on an absolute tear since I was born, even acknowledging the tragic tear suffered by once and future Cy Young Award Winner Jake Peavy. Tied for first at the all star break, and with Connor Power, headed for another world championship! In the mean time, Lets go go go WHITE SOX!!!

Good Luck Kyle!

Our friend Kyle is "on trial" (read arbitration), and that means that he is spending the next indeterminate amount of time in lovely Atlanta, GA. Which means his wife (and also our friend) Tiffany is spending the next intdeterminate amount of time hanging out at our house! I am, of course, playing hard to get with old Tiff, not giving her more than a few minutes of time holding me before yodeling. But I love my time with her, and appreciate that she drags my mom out on walks so I can get some snuggle time with my dad.

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Hello readers! It's a greatly flattered guest blogger reaching out to you today, Daddy Brendan!!! While Connor's 4000 word birthday essay in praise of mom's milk supply is surprisingly elegant, and will be posted soon, (we promise), he was gracious enough to allow me to write a little something in honor of Momma Liz's 31st birthday. We have received several requests from our faithful readers (yea, right, like Connor could read all the fan mail himself. Of course he has help. Do you think Justin Bieber reads all his fan mail? And he isn't even cute.) for pictures of Liz and the baby together, the main problem is that it is very rare for the two of them to spend time together in any state of dress which can safely be published on a website. Well, certainly not facebook anyway. But this is not to say that they do not spend time together, and that Liz is not already as wonderful a mother as she has been a companion to me over these last five years (since we have not yet hit our first wedding anniversary I am going back to when we started dating). Liz is charming, beautiful, smart and almost as funny as I am, and every day makes me the luckiest man alive for waking up next to her. In honor of all that she does for me and the boy I have posted a gallery of some of my favorite shots of her and us from our adventures over the years (some which are not Liz approved and may well be taken down, so right click save now!!!). Connor and I both love her dearly, could not imagine our life without her, and would not even want to try! Happy Birthday Baby!!!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Happy Fourth of July Everybody! Please note my patrotic get up. The Waltherpours were generous enough to invite me to my first fete, and I sure did it up! See if you can spot me in the group shots. I think you will be pleasantly unsurprised. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Kyle and Tiff's old friends Jeff and JP (the exceptionally attractive couple I am posing with above), and I got to hang out once again with my old friend Marietta. All around an awesome experience, and dad only dropped breakfast potatoes on me a couple times. I topped the day off by letting Kyle and Tiff know they should hang on to their new Persian rug by blessing it, and since I was a little afraid they did not get the point, I went ahead and did it again. You are welcome Tiff!

Olive Branch

To try and make amends for the long delay, I provide you with a little bit of something for the ladies out there. And the grandpas. Enjoy!!!
